Shelf Stocker Supervisor

Site: Pensacola, FL

JOB SUMMARY:

The Shelf Stocking Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of employees in the stocking and replenishing of shelves at a Commissary. The supervisor will ensure that all products are stocked efficiently and accurately, while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Additionally, the supervisor will be responsible for training, coaching, and motivating the team to ensure productivity and high-quality work.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of employees in the stocking, rotating and replenishing of shelves.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that products are stocked in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of performance work statement and adherence to performance standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment by ensuring that shelves, aisles, and storage areas are kept clean and free of clutter.
  • Trains employees in orientation to the building, proper work techniques, schedules, usage of supplies, operation of equipment and all safety practices.
  • Collect and submit daily reports and project documentation.
  • Ensures quality assurance standards are in compliance and reports are completed in a timely matter.
  • Ensure that safety protocols are followed by all team members, including proper lifting techniques and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance stakeholders to ensure that all contract needs are met and that store policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, employee schedules, and productivity and rotation metrics.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer complaints and issues as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervise Shelf Stockers and employees assigned to that area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a retail environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and stocking procedures.
  • Must be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areas.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be available to work a varied work schedule including nights and/or weekends.
  • Must be able to work independently with limited Supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, as well as stand for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years’ experience in a retail environment preferred.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Have current or the ability to obtain OSHA Forklift Certification

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

  • Good administra­tive skills; comfortable performing multiple tasks concurrently; and attentive to detail for quality performance.

TRAVEL:

Limited travel may be expected to support commissary operations in other areas.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE):

Must be authorized to access and work on site.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes).
  • The supervisor will be expected to work in the chill and frozen areas.
  • Will need to use any personal protective (safety) equipment as designated properly and consistently.
  • Involves exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., cleaning solutions and bio-waste hazards).
  • Required inoculations and training provided by the company.
  • Some tasks may be performed independently with little supervision.

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following: repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving up to 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations, when practical, can be offered to accomplish the above requirements.

Availability

Full Time - must have a flexible schedule to include days, nights, holidays, and weekends

Rate of Pay $18.50 per hour
