Custodial Project Manager - Cape Canaveral SFS

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Manager oversees the custodial daily operations at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Functional areas include recruiting and training staff, collaborating with vendors, ensuring contracted work is completed, and that safety policies are implemented.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.

  • Ensure all phases of the operation meet contract specifications and quality assurance standards.
  • Manage man-hours and other contract costs to assure contract requirements are met within budgeted expenditures.
  • Provide participative leadership for personnel to ensure achievement of responsibilities. Make employment decisions (such as, hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary and commendatory actions, appraisals) and prepare appropriate documentation.
  • Provide support to pricing and invoicing actions.
  • Support square footage and production standard actions
  • Maintain and monitor supply orders and equipment maintenance within budget restrictions.
  • Prepare documentation or reports required for agency or contract use. Ensure accurate recording of labor hours, work performed or related information.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Contract Officer Representative regarding services provided, problem areas, additions/deletions to services.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Supervise custodial staff including Supervisors, Leads and Custodians and their work according to contract quality and time schedules.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in related field
  • Four years of custodial services or comparable work experience
  • Two years of Supervisory experience
  • An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may suffice for the above requirements
  • Must satisfy background screening for access to the work areas
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must have a driver’s license, clean driving record, current insurance coverage and reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five years of prior Management experience
  • Prior experience working on a Government Contract
  • Experience working with Individuals with Disabilities

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Work autonomously, making decisions without much managerial oversight.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for providing instruction for individuals with disabilities (IWD)
  • Knowledge of safe work practices
  • Skill in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office Suite and applicable department/organization specific software
  • Effective interpersonal abilities. Able to get along with diverse personalities; is tactful and professional. Service oriented.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret program related laws and regulations and establish necessary work processes and procedures

TRAVEL:

No Travel is expected for this position

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE):

Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 40 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Physical Requirements can be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks are regularly performed at the work sites which includes different types of work environments. Work is also frequently done in an office environment sitting for extended periods at a desk.

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity.

Availability: Scheduled hours Monday through Friday, 7 - 3:30; additional availability may be required

Salary: Starting at $45K/year
